Planning Guide and Report: Family Planning Counseling Model, with a Gender Focus and Cultural Relevance, and Differentiated for Adolescents Operating in the Services of the Indigenous Districts and Scattered Rural Areas, Panama
This document serves as an example and guide for a family planning counseling model with a focus on gender and cultural relevance for services in indigenous and rural communities. This document describes the structure and theory that support the family planning counseling model with cultural relevance in the indigenous communities of Panama.
The document is organized into six chapters, in addition to bibliographical references and annexes.
The model described is aimed at the personnel of the Basic and Community Health Teams of the Indigenous Comarcas and Dispersed Rural Areas to provide counseling in contraception to women, men and / or couples in the communities. The model is part of the National Sexual and Reproductive Health Program of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Panama (MINSA). This model complements the CONE Strategy, which is based on a continuum of care that emphasizes the four pillars of safe motherhood, prioritizing community participation with a communication and action strategy for family planning as a preventive axis.
