La Iniciativa Salud Mesoamérica (ISM) participará en la primera Conferencia Global sobre Salud Materna y Neonatal (GMNHC por sus siglas en inglés) — una reunión técnica de alto nivel para discutir programas, políticas, investigación, y actividades de promoción para apoyar en el logro de una cobertura efectiva y sostenible de las intervenciones maternales y neonatales a escala en países y regiones con las mayores necesidades. Esta conferencia, que marca un hito, se realizará del 18 al 21 de octubre en la ciudad de México, y busca considerar los éxitos y desafíos, compartir las lecciones aprendidas y actualizaciones técnicas, y establecer las prioridades para el futuro de la salud materna y neonatal.
Más de 2.700 resúmenes fueron presentados y tan solo un 20 por ciento fueron aceptados. Se aceptaron dos paneles y un resumen de la ISM [ver abajo]. La Iniciativa también estará participando en una Sesión Auxiliar conjuntamente con la iniciativa global Una Promesa Renovada para las Américas.
